The year 2022 was a year of overall downturn, especially for U.S. stocks. In 2022, I drew how Japanese stock prices fared in such a year, as a study of D3.
The graph above is a line graph of data from January 4, 2019 to the end of July 2022 before the corona.
Indeed, although they were down in April 2020 when the corona spread around the world, they have recovered remarkably from that point. And what I didn’t see myself was that even though stock prices were down worldwide in 2022, Japanese stocks were not that affected.
I am not an expert on economics or finance, so I am not sure what the reason is, but at any rate, Japanese stock prices performed very well in 2022.
